Employee Spotlight: Geraldine Brouste - Customer Success Manager

Welcome to our Employee Spotlight series. This week, Geraldine Brouste tells us about how growing up near the Pyrenees spurred her love of hiking and camping, which Geraldine has continued to enjoy with her children in her downtime from her role at Keelvar.

How did you get to your current role at Keelvar?

I am part of the Customer Success Team and I work as a Senior Customer Success Manager.

I spent 12 years with a multinational software company as a CSM after being part of a redundancy wave. It was a blessing in disguise! I had been thinking about moving on for a while but it is hard to leave the comfort of what you know!

I took 6 months off to spend more time with my kids and travel to France, after which I started looking for work again. I knew I wanted to work for a smaller company, and I knew I wanted it to be Irish-owned. Keelvar was the perfect fit for me.

What is the most challenging part of your role?

I would say the most challenging part is also the part I love the most about my job. Building strong relationships with my customers. It takes time and effort but this is what gets me through the ups and downs of the most difficult times.

Whether there is an issue, a project delay, or a difficult conversation to have, a strong relationship helps the communication throughout a crisis. To quote American author, John C. Maxwell, “Integrity is important in building relationships. And it is the foundation upon which many other qualities for success are built, such as respect, dignity and trust.”

What do you like to do outside of work?

I usually spend most of my free time with my kids. My husband being quite busy running his own business, there would be a lot of mummy duties and driving from one activity to another. But generally speaking, I love the outdoors.

I grew up near the Pyrenees mountains in the southwest of France where hiking is just so amazing. Camping is always for me the best way to disconnect.

I took the kids for 5 nights away, camping on the west coast of Ireland, no electricity, no phone, no running water. It is to date our most memorable time spent together!

What aspects of yourself do you bring to work?

Positivity and sociability! I would probably be the one dragging my co-workers out for lunch and always up for a good laugh!

What do you like most about working at Keelvar?

The people, without question! When I went through the interview process, it's what made me choose Keelvar. I felt people were kind, caring and respectful.

To date, it has not disappointed. I work with amazing people that I care about deeply.
