In just a few short years, digital transformation in procurement has shifted from a fleeting consideration in board meetings to the top of the business agenda for myriad companies in the supply chain industry.
According to Procurement Leaders (April 2021) research, there are multiple drivers for procurement’s accelerated march towards digital transformation, ranging from data-driven business objectives to contemporary supply chain and sourcing challenges, and the expanding scope of disruptors such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, for the past 18 months with the global disruptions in shipping and material shortages, 'nice to have intelligent software solutions have become 'need to have' priorities for CPOs.
Following a similar timeframe, Digital Procurement World has grown from a single 500-person conference back in 2019 to what the procurement-tech juggernaut now describes as ‘a network with diverse players bound by one shared mission: “To unlock the true power of procurement through excellence in digital.”
“I founded DPW in the belief that the procurement industry today is too siloed and requires a broader group effort and more diversity of thought focusing on leveraging experiences that combine traditional wisdom with modern knowledge and new ways of working,” explains Founder of DPW, Matthias Gutzmann.
Taking place September 15th and 16th 2021, and welcoming a diverse group of attendees including procurement professionals, startup founders, business leaders, academia, and partners from more than 72 countries, DPW2021 is set to be a truly global event for the industry that’s not to be missed.
Although this year’s conference will be somewhat different – DPW2021 will be fully online to deliver a safe and immersive digital-first experience – some 60 speakers and more than 100 startups will be in virtual attendance to dissect procurement’s latest trends, technologies, showcase cutting-edge innovations and discuss best and worst practices.
Among the speakers sharing insights will be Keelvar Founder and CEO Alan Holland, who will co-present a 25-minute session on ‘Sourcing Modernization and ROI’ with team members of Keelvar customer and Colombia-headquartered food processing giant, Grupo Nutresa. Grupo Nutresa shared some key learnings from their procurement transformation journey – including the adoption of Keelvar for optimization – in a webinar last year, and you can read some of those highlights here.
During the session on September 16th, 2021, Grupo Nutresa’s Digital Procurement Leader Carlos Peña and Digital Procurement Specialist, Maria Fernanda Velasquez will discuss with Mr. Holland how the conglomerate has made significant strides in modernizing their strategic sourcing practices by focusing on optimization, increasing spend competitively e-sourced, internal adoption and best practices training, and KPI measurement. They will share some specific examples in various spend categories and use of different e-sourcing approaches.
“Grupo Nutresa, like many Keelvar customers in the food and beverage manufacturing industry, are prioritizing their strategic sourcing innovations to support important goals such as sustainability, process efficiency, and increasing procurement’s impact on business outcomes,” said Mr. Holland.
“Theirs is an excellent story to hear, especially as a true leader in the Latin American region.”
To attend Keelvar’s session on September 16th at 13:10 GMT / 14:10 CEST and hear from many other innovative speakers across the two-day DPW2021 conference, register for a pass here.
